"I think [NEO|SO’s bi-monthly summary report] is a great idea. It is an easy way to keep track of services and will be an excellent way to report back to council. Thanks for the innovative approach."

~Mayor Katherine Procop, City of Twinsburg

2008-2009 NEO|SO Bulk Salt Program Approaching Final Stages
Early interest in the 08-09 NEO|SO Bulk Salt Program was strong and it continued throughout the entire participant recruitment campaign. The NEO|SO Bulk Salt Advisory Committee is now finalizing the bid documents and expects to award the NEO|SO Bulk Salt contract in early September.

As already indicated, participation in the upcoming years bulk salt program has grown significantly from the 07-08 season. Overall tonnage has increased by over 50% and the number of participating entities has increased by nearly 70%. These significant increases are directly attributable to the 100% availability and the superior customer service the NEO|SO participants received during the 07-08 season. NEO|SO participants rested easy knowing that they had a stockpile of salt ready and waiting for when they needed it and received constant communication from the NEO|SO office to ensure program success.

Thank you to those entities that renewed their commitment to the NEO|SO Bulk Salt Program and welcome to the 15 new participants for the 08-09 season. NEO|SO is looking forward to working with each participant on another successful season!

NEO|SO is Developing an Office Products Program
The NEO|SO Office Products Sourcing Committee continues to grow and is currently comprised of the following types of entities: a community college, two private colleges, three municipalities, and a not-for-profit organization. Contact NEO|SO today to participate in this unique committee and valuable program.

The NEO|SO Office Products Program, planned for launch in the third quarter of 2008, is being pursued because of our Members' overwhelming demand and consistent requests for this type of comprehensive program. NEO|SO is reaching out to our current and prospective Members to seek additional input in the creation of this offering and for their participation in the sourcing committee that has exceeded $1 Million in committed annual office product spend.

Do not delay: the Office Products Sourcing Committee is being finalized in August. Contact the NEO|SO office today if you are interested in participating in future meetings (216.581.6200, ask for Jani).

NEO|SO Survey: Early Results
Probably not surprising but energy has topped the list of categories that NEO|SO and OFIC Members are most interested in purchasing cooperatively. Energy is closely followed by office products (including copy paper), and industrial MRO.

This survey, being conducted by NEO|SO, will help guide the NEO|SO staff to determine what programs are of most interest to the NEO|SO and OFIC Memberships. Click HERE to take the online survey which outlines numerous spend categories. Please do not hesitate to contact our office at 216.581.6200 (ask for Jani) regarding any questions or to request a paper version of the survey.

NEO|SO Welcomes Newest Members
NEO|SO extends its warmest welcome to its newest Members: Russell Township, Township of South Russell and The Village of West Salem. These new Members have already begun researching NEO|SO programs and how they can add value to their operations. Additionally, as NEO|SO grows so does the "diversity" in entity type. More and more entities, outside of municipalities, are learning about the value of NEO|SO and want to bring that value to their organization. To learn more about NEO|SO, please contact us at 216.581.6200 (ask for Jani).
