PRODUCT IN DEVELOPMENT:
Aggregated Fuel Purchasing & Distribution
TARGET COMPLETION DATE:
Fall 2006
THE SITUATION:
We hear all of the time about the rising cost of gasoline and diesel. Schools are canceling field trips, and services are being cut. Our Members have told us that buying diesel fuel and unleaded has become a major financial problem for them.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
We conducted a preliminary survey during the pilot project and came to a stunning conclusion: responding FSDC communities had a 35% variance in the average price per gallon that they paid in 2004. 35%!!! If we can attain consistency in price for our Members at the lowest price per gallon already achieved, that would result in savings of almost $300,000 for the 14 First Suburbs communities alone.
The following table demonstrates the price per gallon variance for unleaded gasoline:
SUGGESTIONS:
Now is a great time to provide us with any insights and suggestions. Our objective is to provide an avenue for our Members to collectively utilize their buying power and establish some control over their fuel costs.
We need your help and feedback and welcome your input. Do you have any suggestions about how we can make this program better? Do you have other needs or objectives that we haven't addressed? Please Contact Us with your thoughts.
